Robot Updates
February 22, 2017
Yesterday, we have succesfully bagged and tagged our robot, Sherman. We hope to have a great run this season, starting at the St. Louis Regional. We will continue working and practicing with Bot 2 as we prepare for this season.

We are currently perfecting the robot, while we have ran in some problems with the lifter. With the shooter on, the weight was not equally balanced, causing the lifter to not work well. Removing the shooter will allow us to put the battery in a great spot, equalizing the weight. With equal weight, we expect the climb to do well. Otherwise, progress has been going well. We did film some clips of the robot testing for autonomous and tele-op phases.

The robot has succesfully climbed and placed gears for the first time. We are taking timed trials to partially simulate what a real competition would be like. There is an issue with our camera, however; once we fix the camera, we are confident that we will be able to put up a lot of gears in the 2 minute 15 second teleop period. We hope to test our vision and our autonomous as well. We have noticed that a few small tweaks need to be made. Otherwise, Sherman seemed to work exceptionally well.

After an immense amount of hard work from all of our departments, we are preparing our robot for test driving. A few minor issues have been found however The Metool Brigade is working diligently to get these problems fixed. We should hopefully be driving and focusing on vision and autonomous in the near future.
